Krishnagiri Dam

Mode of travel: Self Driven Ford Figo

Direction: Cross Krishnagiri on NH-7. Do not take left towards Chennai. Cross the Junction. Very shortly there is a lake on right. Take the service road just after the lake and take left turn. The road takes you to the Dam.
Food: LOts of places to eat on main NH-7, specially around Shoolagiri. Local shops are available  at the Dam also. Get the food packed if hygiene is a concern. Tap water is available at Dam.

It was a lovely morning. We had no plan to travel. I got up and thought to do something different. Suggested Dimple to go to Yellagiri. After some resistance she agreed. We started at 9. Start driving on NH-7 towards Krishnagiri. The roads are all good and traffic was less being a Sunday morning. We ate breakfast at A2B, around 5 KMs beyond Shoolagiri and then started towards Krishnagiri Dam.

We had to return early due to upset stomach of my dear wife but whatever time we spent there, it was fun. We were back to Bangalore at 1 to have lunch with friends.

The place is very scenic as can be viewed from the pictures. There is enough space for kids to play around. One can spend long time while looking at the water with three artistic peaks at the background.

Beautification of the park has been done with Lord Krishn'a life. There is a very beautiful statue of the fish form of Krishna. Sad that one arm of the statue is taken by someone.
